Dogs Trust Ballymena is holding a fostering and volunteer recruitment event this weekend.

The event is from 1-2pm on Sunday January 27 at the charity's Teeshan Road premises.

The rehoming centre has a number of volunteer positions including kennel cleaner and home visitor and says the roles "are vital to the smooth running" of the organisation. Foster carers who can give a dogs a home for anything between one week and nine months are also sought and the Dogs Trust says carers do not need to have extensive experience with dogs.

"We are also on the lookout for people who do have a little bit more experience too and the expertise to help us care for expectant or new mums and their pups, as well as providing extra TLC to dogs with medical needs or who are recovering from surgery," the charity said.
