THE Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) has announced the appointment of Robert Kidd as its new chief executive.

Mr Kidd, who will take up the post on Monday, leaves the Department of Justice (DoJ) Firearms and Explosives Branch where he has worked since 2011.

He has previously worked for the Police Authority, NI Statistics & Research Agency and the regional development office of the Department of Social Development.
