Driver walks away unhurt after car ends up on roof in Tyrone crash

A DRIVER had a narrow escape when a car landed on its roof in an early morning crash in Co Tyrone.

Police said the motorist managed to walk away unhurt from the crash yesterday on Old Eglish Road outside Dungannon.

Posting an photo of the overturned car on the PSNI's Dungannon and South Tyrone Facebook page, an officer said: "Please remember to take care on the roads as the temperature has dropped overnight and the roads are greasy."

Meanwhile, a man arrested in connection with a road crash near Moy has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The 36-year-old was taken in for questioning after the two-vehicle crash on Armagh Road on Tuesday evening.

Police said there were no reports of any serious injuries.

In the Republic, a teenage girl has died in hospital after being struck by a car on Monday evening in Co Cork.

The 16-year-old pedestrian had been taken to University Hospital Cork following the crash on Main Street in Ballincollig.

The driver of the car was not injured.
