DETECTIVES investigating exploitation of vulnerable members of the Roma community in south Belfast have questioned a 31-year-old man.

The man was arrested in relation to social media posts and posters which had been erected in the area in August making false claims about people who had been working with Roma women and children.

Police said the man was arrested on Tuesday, questioned and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

It was the second arrest in the investigation, with a 40-year old man held in October is also currently on police bail.

The Irish News reported in August that police were investigating the intimidating posters which appeared in south Belfast.
