Raymond O'Neill, remanded in custody charged with the murder of mother of three Jennifer Dornan.

This is the first picture of Raymond O'Neill, the west Belfast man extradited from the Republic this week to stand trial for the murder of a mother-of-three.

O'Neill appeared in court on Wednesday charged with murder and arson in relation to the death of Jennifer Dornan at her Lagmore home in August 2017.

Ms Dornan was stabbed and her house set on fire.

The 40-year-old is also charged with an unrelated rape charge dating back to 2003.

O'Neill was arrested in Bundoran in Co Donegal a week after the murder and remained in custody in the south whilst fighting extradition. He was handed over to the PSNI at the border on Wednesday and appeared in Laganside Magistrates Court later that day.

O'Neill applied for bail but was remanded in custody to Maghaberry prison.

The court was told that the Public Prosecution Service was ready to proceed with a preliminary enquiry on December 4, with a trail expected in the New Year.
