ANOTHER arson attack has been carried out at the home of a senior manager at Sean Quinn's former firm, the company has said.

Emergency crews were called to Tony Lunney's home in Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, after his daughter's car was set alight at about 11.20pm on Tuesday.

It is the latest arson attack on staff at Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH) in recent months.

Some weeks ago Dara O'Reilly's car was set alight outside his home in Butlersbridge, Co Cavan, as he and his young family slept inside the property.

And in August a tyre factory in Co Cavan owned by a senior QIH manager was targeted in an arson attack.

The incidents are being seen as a campaign of threats and intimidation against senior management by people who have sought the return of Mr Quinn to the company.

Mr Quinn, who was once Ireland's richest man, was declared bankrupt in 2012. He has repeatedly condemned attacks on his former businesses.

Liam McCaffrey, chief executive of QIH, said: "It is grossly unacceptable that criminals who threaten the lives and wellbeing of staff on both sides of the border continue to operate with impunity.

"It is also enormously frustrating that following years of intimidation and threats and a substantial escalation of violence over recent months that not a single arrest has been made.

"Unless politicians and the authorities on both sides of the border properly prioritise and resource this issue, as they have with gangland and paramilitary crime in other area, lives will be lost.

"More than 830 staff and their families and the wider community are impacted by this violence and intimidation and they are in urgent need of reassurance that this issue is being taken seriously."
