THREE people have been arrested after two men were stabbed and a woman was attacked in west Belfast.

Police were called to a property in Percy Street at around 11.30pm on Friday after receiving a report that several people had been injured.

Officers found a 21-year-old man with two stab wounds in his back. A 19-year-old man had been stabbed in his side and shoulder.

A woman in her thirties was also found to have sustained a head injury.

A PSNI spokesman said: "All three were taken to hospital where they were treated for their injuries. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw what happened to get in touch."

A 37-year-old woman and two men aged 35 and 18 were arrested on Saturday evening. They remained in custody last night.

DUP councillor Brian Kingston said he was "very concerned" by the attack.

"I hope that the three people injured and treated in hospital will make a full recovery," he said.

"There have been complaints recently from residents about loud anti-social behaviour in the area. Community workers have been working with statutory agencies to address those concerns. The incident was a serious escalation and highlights the need for a statutory response."

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old man has been arrested for grievous bodily harm with intent, disorderly behaviour and assault on police after a man was stabbed in the neck.

He was still being questioned by police last night.

The attack happened at around 4.15am on Saturday on Carrigart Avenue in west Belfast.

The 24-year-old victim suffered two stab wounds and remained in a serious condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
