Tributes paid to `gorgeous wee brother' Nathan Doran killed in Co Armagh road crash

The brother of a young man killed in a road traffic collision in Co Armagh has paid tribute to his younger sibling as someone whose "qualities were known to all those who knew you".

Nathan Doran, a 22-year-old motorcyclist, died in a crash on the Dobbin Road between Armagh and Portadown at around 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Mr Doran, who was from Lurgan, was a former pupil at Lismore Comprehensive in Craigavon.

A second vehicle, a white Ford Focus, was also involved in the collision.

Yesterday, his brother, Chris took to social media to pay tribute to his "gorgeous wee brother" who he had been "taken from us, from the world you never got to see, as in much pain as I am, I am glad your not.

"Rest peacefully brother knowing that all your qualities were known to all those who knew you. I love you".

Other friends of Mr Dorans' also paid tribute to him.

One friend posted on Facebook: "So sad sorry to hear about Nathan he was a good young fella" while another added: "Rest easy my work buddy gonna miss u around shop, craic we had, never be the same. Rip Nathan".

Police were last night continuing to investigating the collision and appealed for witnesses or anyone with any dashcam footage to contact the PSNI on 101.

SDLP assembly member Dolores Kelly extended her deepest sympathies to Mr Doran's family and friends.

She said the news of another fatality on the roads had "shocked the local community".

"My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with this man's family and friends at this terrible time," she said.

"I have no doubt that local people will rally around and offer whatever support they can".

Sinn Féin councillor Catherine Nelson said: "There is a deep sense of shock in the local community at the news that a 22-year-old man has died in a tragic motorcycle accident on Dobbin Road.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with this man’s family and friends at this sad and difficult time".
