KYLIE Minogue pulled out of both her Irish concerts, just hours before she was due to perform in Dublin's 3Arena, after a throat infection left her with strained vocal chords.

Fans agreed she had struggled during her recent Leeds gig on her Golden Tour, although insisted that the performance had not been affected.

However, yesterday afternoon the worst was confirmed by the chanteuse herself on Twitter.

"Lovers - I'm so sorry to let you know that I can't do tonight's Dublin or tomorrow's Belfast shows.

"I've been trying everything possible to be well enough to perform for you but a throat infection has led to vocal strain.

"I promise I'll be back as soon as possible and at 100%. (The Guinness will be on me!)

"We're working on rescheduling and more details will follow.

"I'm so, so sorry to let you down and thank you for your understanding."

The announcement was met with dismay and sympathy.

"Wow...flew all the way from Los Angeles for this," wrote one fan in reply.

"This is not me complaining or throwing shade or anything...health is obviously super important. But I can't help but be, well, disappointed. I put my life on hold for this concert...but I guess these things happen.

"I really mean no disrespect. But living where I live I never know when I'll ever get the opportunity to see her live, so I'm just, you know, sad it didn't work out."

Another said: "Well we are heading to dub anyways , going to find a good bar and drink to your good health , cause we still load ya loads, now loads of honey and a hot whiskey you'll be grand lol".

Meanwhile one said she was "really disappointed not to be seeing you tonight was so looking forward to it. I know you were probably hoping to go ahead with the show but it would have been good to get a bit more notice so we could cancel hotels etc".

Kylie is due to be jetting to the continent, with crowds in principality of Luxembourg eagerly awaiting her show in its Rockhal tomorrow night.

She flew into Dublin Airport on Friday, ahead of her anticipated performance in the city, wrapped in a large black fur-look coat, white silk skirt and blouse, with a stylish fedora.

The Irish dates were among a series of concerts celebrating the chanteuse reaching her half century with a musical comeback that have referenced her long career, both as a singer and an actress.

Already on the tour she has reunited with former boyfriend and one-time Neighbours cast mate Jason Donovan to sing their breakthrough duet `Especially For You' and in another concert performed the soap opera's iconic theme tune.
