TRANSLINK is investigating after a Metro bus bound for north Belfast crashed into a coffee shop in the city centre.

The 11A bus was travelling along Lower North Street when it crashed into an awning over the side of Caffe Nero yesterday morning.

A Translink spokeswoman said no one was injured.

"We can confirm that an incident occurred this morning at approximately 9.45am involving a Metro 11A service in Lower North Street, Belfast city centre," she said.

"There were three passengers on board the service and there are no reports of any injuries."

Workmen were assessing the damage to the canopy early yesterday afternoon.
