Loyalist blogger Jamie Bryson lodges complaint with Police Ombudsman

Jamie Bryson has lodged a complaint with the Police Ombudsman

LOYALIST blogger Jamie Bryson has lodged a complaint with the Police Ombudsman after he was arrested by PSNI officers investigating criminality linked to the UVF in east Belfast.

The PSNI said officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force supported the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and carried out an arrest and search operation last Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.

It said a 28-year-old man was arrested under the Private Security Industry Act 2001 on suspicion of unlawfully supplying door staff.

Mr Bryson later denied any involvement in criminal activity and criticised police following his release.

A spokesperson for the Police Ombudsman’s Office last night said: “We have received a complaint which will now be investigated.”
