A 40-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.
A man in his thirties was shot in both legs in an alleyway at around 10.30pm on Saturday.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening but police have said they could be life changing.
Resident Angela Whelan, who was at home watching TV, said she witnessed the aftermath of the shooting.
She said she saw the man lying injured on the ground, bleeding heavily, and that it was the second shooting in the area in recent weeks.
Detective Inspector Paul Wright said the man was shot in both legs in an alleyway close to the Westrock Gardens and Springhill Drive area of Whiterock.
