A west Belfast teenager who fell from a hotel balcony in Majorca is expected to make a full recovery.

Padraig Morgan (18) was in Santa Ponsa with four friends when he fell from the second floor of the Deya apartment complex.

He was taken to hospital for injuries which were initially thought to be serious.

However, the promising young goalkeeper, who plays for St James' Swifts FC, was released yesterday.

The teenager was only a few days into his holiday when the accident happened on Tuesday.

A friend of the family said last night he had been released from hospital and had not suffered any serious injury.

Last month there were two fatal balcony falls involving holidaymakers from Northern Ireland.

Schoolboy Henry McStravick (14) died in Playa de Muro in Majorca, while nurse Seaneen McCullough was lost her life in Turkey where she was holidaying with her partner and teenage son.
