A TEENAGER from west Belfast has been rushed to hospital in Spain after falling from a balcony yesterday.

Padraig Morgan (18) was holidaying with friends in Santa Ponsa, Majorca when he fell from the second floor of Apartamentos Deya at around 5.30am yesterday morning.

He was rushed to Son Espases Hospital and is believed to be in a serious condition.

The teenager is a goalkeeper for St James Swifts in west Belfast. Posting on their Facebook page, the club said: "All at St James Swifts would like to wish our player Padraig Morgan a speedy recovery as he had an accident on holiday and is now in hospital. We are all behind you if anything is needed."

Well-wishers have ben posting their support to Mr Morgan on the club's page.

In the past month there have been two other holiday balcony falls involving people from the north. Henry McStravick (14) from Crumlin died on July 19 after falling 20ft in the Playa de Muro resort in Majorca. 

Belfast woman Seaneen McCullough died on July 11 after falling from a hotel balcony while on holiday in Turkey.
