A BELFAST teenager is set to grace the screens of TV watchers this week - with her star-studded `blind audition' for The Voice Kids.

Hannah McCann, a 13-year-old from Lagmore, travelled to London with her family in February, where she sang Norah Jones' song Everybody Needs A Best Friend in front of the celebrity judges - Danny Jones, Pixie Lott and Will.i.am.

In a battle against 10,000 other children, Hanna was among the small number to reach the 'blind auditions.'

Her aunt, Cara, said that the whole family were incredibly proud of Hannah's success.

"Hannah approached this competition with so much maturity. She has gained so much experience from it - such as vocal coaching, speaking and singing on camera- her confidence has soared. This is just the start for Hannah," she said.

Hannah's success in The Voice Kids has inspired her to enter other singing competitions.

Cara said: “Hannah is absolutely delighted! So much do she entered the all-Ireland singing competition TeenStar and out of 1100 contestants came third.”

Hannah has been singing since she was a baby, and she attends the Northern Ireland School of Music and Theatre. Her love of music was inspired by her aunt Cara who is a church musician.

Although busy with working towards her grade seven singing exam, Hannah sings with her aunt at weddings – with The Voice even travelling to Belfast to video the pair singing at a reception in the Ballymac Hotel.

Hannah’s first love is the theatre and her recent achievements have fuelled her to keep striving towards her dream of becoming a West End or Broadway star.

:: Hannah's performance on The Voice Kids will air on Sunday July 15 on ITV.
