GOLFER Graeme McDowell has lost his clubs ahead of a qualifier for the Open Championship.

The Portrush-born sportsman flew to England for qualifying tomorrow, ahead of the Irish Open at Ballyliffin, Co Donegal, on Thursday.

McDowell had been playing in a tournament in France and flew out of Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport to Manchester.

But a bag containing his golf clubs has now gone missing.

He tweeted an appeal for help earlier today.

McDowell is aiming to secure a spot at the Open, due to take place at Carnoustie in Scotland from July 19.
