Belfast-born singer and theatre star Peter Corry has tied the knot to long-term girlfriend Fleur Mellor.

The 52-year-old, who is also a well-know director and producer, celebrated his nuptials in Italy on Saturday.

The wedding comes three years after the couple got engaged in Paris in October 2015.

While Fleur, a dancer and choreographer, had surprised the Northern Ireland singer with a trip to Paris for his 50th birthday, he returned the surprise by getting down on one knee and proposing over dinner.

Yesterday, the Belfast School Of Performing Arts, of which Peter is Artistic Director, sent their best wishes to the popular singer.

Posting on Facebook, BSPA said: "Huge congratulations to the beautiful couple, Peter and Fleur. Wishing you many years of happiness as man and wife. You both look amazing."

Speaking on Facebook yesterday, the singer said: "So this happened yesterday. I married the love of my life. What an incredible day, in a stunning place surrounded by close friends and family. I really couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for all the messages."
