The funeral has taken place of the popular Belfast hairdresser who died while on holiday in France

Leah Weir had been on a break in Cannes in the south of France along with eight friends, when she took her own life.

Ms Weir (28) who was from the Shankill area of west Belfast, worked at Bellaire Hair and Beauty in the city centre.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral at the New-life Fellowship Church yesterday.

Her parents Tom and Deborah had asked that instead of flowers mourners donated money to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

Ms Weir's friend and owner of Bellaire salon Carly Bell-Hoey read a poem to her friend at the service before burial at Roselawn cemetery.
