THREE people were taken to hospital yesterday after a crash outside Portadown involving a car and a tanker lorry.

The tanker brought down power lines as it skidded off the road and landed on its side down an embankment.

It happened beside a tyre storage facility on the main Portadown to Armagh Road, near the Sandymount Road junction.

The area was being treated with caution as the tanker was believed to have been carrying hazardous animal waste.
