A suspicious object in north Belfast that sparked a security alert in which residents were forced from their homes has been declared a hoax.
Several houses were evacuated on Saturday after an object found in the Elimgrove Street area was reported to police at around 5.30pm.
It was later declared a hoax and residents returned to their homes.
PSNI Inspector James Murphy said: “I would like to thank residents for their patience while we work to keep the community safe.”
It was the latest in a series of security alerts prompted by the discovery of suspicious objects in north Belfast.
