AN apprentice mechanic who died in an accident in Co Fermanagh has been named locally as 18-year-old Neil Graham from Garrison.

The tragedy happened while the teenager was working on a tractor in a workshop on a farm in the Boho Road area near Enniskillen on Tuesday.

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) said it was aware of an incident and is making enquiries.

The air ambulance was dispatched as well as a rapid response ambulance but the teenager, who is from a well known local family, died at the scene.

Police confirmed they attended the scene of a sudden death but said it wasn't being treated as suspicious.

Fermanagh and South Tyrone MP Tom Elliott paid tribute to the young man, saying he was a "very well respected family" from the Garrison area.

DUP leader Arlene Foster also said it was "immensely sad news for the Garrison community".

"Our thoughts turn to Neil’s family who are mourning the loss of their son. They will feel the pain of his loss most acutely and they are very much in our prayers in the days and weeks ahead," she said.

"Garrison is a close-knit area and I have no doubt the community will give help and support to the family as they grieve Neil’s loss.”
