A STRING of burglaries at homes in Co Down are linked, police have said.

Homes in Linen Crescent in Bangor, Tudor Oaks in Holywood and Belvedere Road in Newtownards were targeted by two men on Wednesday night.

Police said the men were disturbed at a house at Linen Crescent at around 11.20pm on Wednesday.

The burglars then drove off in a black BMW car. When police attended the scene they found two other homes in the street had been burgled.

Officers later discovered the car had been stolen in a creeper burglary on Belvedere Road in Newtownards.

At around 9am yesterday police were told a black Volkswagon Eos car had been taken in a creeper burglary from a house at Tudor Oaks in Holywood overnight.

The BMW was discovered abandoned at Earlscourt Street in west Belfast shortly after 10am yesterday.

Police appealed to anyone with information to contact them.
