A man has been arrested after police found a 32-year-old man unconscious at a property in Orangefield Close in Armagh late last night.

The victim had sustained visible injuries to his face and body. His condition this morning was described as critical but stable.

Both men are believed to be foreign nationals.

Police were called at around 11.50pm on Sunday.

Inspector Gary Moore said a 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH.

DUP councillor for the area Freda Donnelly said the incident had caused "widespread shock".

"The community here in Orangefield are praying that this young man will pull through," she said.
