A 34-year-old man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act in connection with the murder of Raymond Johnston in west Belfast last week.

Mr Johnston (28) was shot dead in the home he shared with his partner and her 11-year-old daughter on Glenbawn Avenue, Polegass.

Police arrested a man in Poleglass today. Officers had carried out seven searches in west Belfast amd taken items away for forensic examination, the PSNI said

Commercial premises were searched yesterday and item seized.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce said Mr Johnston's February 13 murder was "brutal" and "savage".

“The gunmen were in the house for a very short period of time and he was murdered in front of an 11-year-old girl and his partner."

DCI Boyce appealed for information.

“Did you see Raymond the day he was murdered? Can you remember where and when you saw him, and who was he with?

“I am appealing to any members of the public that had contact with Raymond, or anyone who was in the area at any time on Tuesday 13 February and had a dash cam fitted in their vehicles to contact us."
