Man dies after being struck by a lorry in Broughshane, Co Antrim

A man in his sixties has died after being struck by a lorry in the Co Antrim village of Broughshane this morning.

The accident happened on Main Street in the village which is near Ballymena.

PSNI Inspector Peter Duncan said it is believed the accident happened just after 9.20 am "when a lorry collided with a pedestrian".

"The road was closed for a number of hours following the collision but has since reopened.

"I would ask anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information to contact 101 quoting reference number 264 16/01/18."
