THE death of a 16-year-old boy found at his Co Down home on Christmas Eve is no longer being treated as suspicious following the results of a post mortem.

Conor Robb from Castlewellan died at his home in the Newcastle Road area on Sunday.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but was later released on bail. The PSNI said last night the teenager was "no longer of interest to police" and officers were not investigating the death.

Family and friends of Conor, a former pupil at St Malachy's High School, are due to gather in Ballykinlar tomorrow for his funeral.

The teenager has been described by friends as someone who "always had a smile on your face".

SDLP assembly member Colin McGrath last night said the "entire community is in shock" following news of the sudden death.

He added: "This is a difficult time for family and friends and wider community - the family will need space to deal with their loss. They are in my thoughts and prayers."

Friends left tributes on social media.

"You were always there for me when no one else was you are always going to be my brother even though we fell out at times we never could break that bond we had," one friend wrote.

Another said he was "completely heartbroken" by his death, adding: "Never a dull moment, always had a smile on your face - hope you’re keeping her lit mucker, rest easy".

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Church of St Patrick and St Joseph at 11am tomorrow followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Conor is survived by his mother Suzanne and siblings Danny, Josephine and Lauren.
