THE mother of 20-time Champion Jockey and Grand National Winner AP McCoy has died.

Claire McCoy died peacefully on December 26.

"My beautiful mother Claire passed away peacefully this evening with all her family around," the former jockey posted on Twitter.

"The most incredible wife to my Dad and mother to myself, Annemarie, Roisin, Jane, Colm & Kelly."

The Jockey Club, Antrim GAA and Stoke City footballer Charlie Adam were among those to send messages of condolence.
