Two serving police officers have been arrested as part of an investigation into the alleged theft and distribution of prescription drugs.

They were detained by Police Ombudsman investigators at stations in Co Antrim this morning.

A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman's office said: "The arrests were made as part of an investigation into a number of potential offences, including the theft and distribution of prescription drugs."
