Jarvis Cocker: Rocker becomes east Belfast bingo caller
ROCKER Jarvis Cocker made a surprise appearance as a bingo caller in east Belfast over the weekend.
The former Pulp frontman appeared at the God's Waiting Room club night at the Ulster Maple Leaf Sports and Social Club on Saturday.
Cocker had been DJing at the event, hosted by Belfast musician David Holmes, when he was asked to call bingo numbers.
The Park Avenue club, first opened in 1968, was once one of Belfast's most popular venues.
But it is set to close after Christmas due to difficulties in getting new members.
Pulp had several top ten hits in the 1990s, including Common People and Disco 2000.
