A 60-year-old man has been charged after a hoax bomb alert at a Co Antrim school.

The man was arrested after a warning was received that a bomb had been left at Harryville Primary School in the Casement Street area of Ballymena on Tuesday morning.

He is expected to appear at Ballymena Magistrates Court today.

A PSNI spokeswoman said he has been charged with “communicating false information causing bomb hoax”.
