A donation will be made to the Northern Ireland Hospice for every copy sold of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers's new autobiography.

The book, entitled Brendan Rodgers: The Road to Paradise, will be released on October 28 and charts his football career and life growing up in Carnlough, Co Antrim.

Celtic said it has made a donation at Mr Rodgers's request to both Northern Ireland Hospice and Children's Hospices Across Scotland ahead of the book's release.

The club also said it will make a further donation to each of the charities for every copy of the book sold.

Mr Rodgers (44) has been an ambassador for Northern Ireland Hospice since 2015.

The charity's chief executive Heather Weir said: "The gesture from Celtic and Brendan to donate proceeds of this autobiography to Northern Ireland Hospice is a measure of their character and dedication to raising awareness of hospice care services that Northern Ireland people can avail of when they need us most."
