A man accused of manslaughter who was "released accidentally" from jail was remanded back into custody today.

Defence solicitor Gabriel Ingram told Lisburn Magistrates Court that John McComb (37) had been freed to live at a hostel in Bangor but when it transpired there was no place available, he was in breach of his bail "through no fault of his own".

McComb, from Woodville Street in Lurgan, is accused of the manslaughter of Paul Gerard Curran on March 9 this year.

The body of the 29-year-old was discovered when paramedics were called to Manor Drive in Lurgan.

McComb, previous courts have heard, denies inflicting any fatal blows to his close friend.

Remanding McComb into custody, District Judge Rosie Watters ordered him to appear again via videolink on Friday.
