Larne gun attack: Man (24) charged with attempted murder

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attempted murder and other crimes over a gun attack on a young family's home in Larne.

The man is to appear before before Ballymena Magistrate's Court on Wednesday morning.

He faces charges including carrying a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, hijacking, aggravated taking and driving away.

A couple and their three sons, aged 10, seven and three, were asleep at their home on Brustin Brae Road in the Co Antrim town when shots were fired at the house around 2am on Monday, September 11.

A car was also set alight outside the house.

A 30-year-old man has already appeared in court in connection with the attack.
