A MAN had part of his ear bitten off in an attack on a dance floor during a night out in Belfast city centre.

The assault on the victim, aged in his thirties, happened during an altercation in licensed premises off Amelia Street on Sunday just before midnight.

Police said the suspect is believed to have left the premises in a taxi outside James Street South with a woman following the incident.

He is described as a white male, aged in his thirties, possibly 5ft 7-8ins tall, well-built with short dark hair. He also had a tattoo on his neck and was wearing a tight T-shirt.

Police appealed for anyone with information to contact detectives at Musgrave criminal investigation branch on 101, quoting reference 1529 of 20/08/17.
