ARDS Allotments are holding an open day to highlight the benefits of growing your own fruit and vegetables.
Based on the Comber Road, Newtownards, Ards Allotments provides managed plots on the north-west shore of Strangford Lough.
During the open day on Saturday August 10 from 10am to 4pm, celebrity chef Paula McIntyre will be giving a cookery demonstration using food grown on the plots.
Free hot dogs will also be available.
The event is being held in aid of Slow Food's African food gardens appeal.
