A YOUNG family have escaped injury after two shots were fired at their home in Derry.

The house on Racecourse Drive was targeted at around 9.40pm on Monday.

A man and four children were in the house at the time but no one was injured.

Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney said: "Those behind attacks need to end their war with the community.

"There is no place for guns on our streets."

Police have appealed for information.
