Three escape serious injury after Co Down road crash

Three young people have escaped serious injury following a one-car crash on the Ballynahinch Road in Co Down

TWO young men and a young woman were in a stable condition in hospital last night following a serious one-car road crash in Co Down.

The car crashed on Ballynahinch Road, between Ballynahinch and Saintfield, shortly after 3pm yesterday.

It is thought the car rolled over several times before coming to a stop in a field.

One of the three, who are all believed to be teenagers, was flown to Musgrave Park Hospital via the north's new Air Ambulance, then transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The other two were also taken to the same hospital.

A spokeswoman for the Belfast trust said they were in a stable condition yesterday evening.

The new Air Ambulance, which was set up after a long campaign, was used for the first time last week.
