POLICE have arrested a man in connection with an investigation into loyalist paramilitary activity.

The 36-year-old was arrested in Belfast today.

Detective Inspector Darren McCartney said the arrest is in connection with an ongoing investigation into paramilitary activity in the south east Antrim area

He has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite where he is currently helping police with their enquiries,” he said.

An ongoing loyalist feud in the Carrickfergus area has been linked to the killing of former UDA boss Geordie Gilmore.
