A 44 year old man was shot in both legs at Galliagh Pk, Co. Derry at 11:40 pm last night.
The man has been taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Chair of the Derry and Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership, Alderman Thompson condemned the attacks.
“The people who carried out the shooting have no concern for people living in the area and no matter what rationale is put forward this type of assault has no place in our society”, he said.
The PSNI have appealed for anyone with information to cantact them on 101.
