Man (35) arrested after armed robbery in Larne

Police have arrested a 35-year-old man following an armed robbery in Larne

A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following an armed robbery in Co Antrim.

Two masked men, one armed with a gun and the other with a screwdriver, demanded money from a shop worker at premises on Linn Road in the Craigyhill area of Larne at around 6.40am yesterday.

The men took cash and drove off in a silver Nissan Micra car which had been stolen from the Argyll Avenue area of the town sometime between 10.00pm on Saturday and 6.10am on Sunday.

The car was later found abandoned at Inver Road in Larne at around 7.35am.

The male member of staff was not injured, however he was left badly shaken.

Police have appealed for information about the robbery.
