MUSGRAVE PSNI station's custody suite is undergoing a deep clean after a reported lice infestation on the premises.

PSNI Superintendent Simon Walls said the custody suite remains open and up to 30 cells are available.

There are around 50 cells in the suite.

“The deep clean at Musgrave custody suite continues, however, continuity of service has been maintained," he said.

"Indeed, there are currently a maximum of 30 cells available for use at the suite today. We also have additional capacity in Bangor, Armagh and Antrim.

“We have liaised with the Law Society to inform them of some changes to custody arrangements during the time of limited opening in Musgrave.

“It is anticipated that the suite will fully re-open on Wednesday morning.”
