A woman in her 80s refused to let go of her bag as she stood up to a man who tried to snatch it as she got out of her car on Kings Road, Belfast.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an attempted robbery.



Sergeant Alexander said : “It was reported that at approximately 12.55pm on Monday 24th April, a woman in her 80’s was exiting a car on Kings Road, Belfast, when a male described as being of a slim build and approximately 5’10 attempted to steal her handbag. The female victim refused to let go of her handbag and the male quickly made off from the scene.



The victim received bruising to her arm as a result of the incident and was left badly shaken.
