A CLOTHING store has been targeted by burglars for the second time in three days.

They broke into Regatta Outlet, based at the junction of Queen Street and College Street in the centre of Belfast, at around 5.30am on Wednesday.

Police said that the front door of the shop was smashed and a number of items of clothing stolen.

In the early hours of Monday, a main window in the shop was destroyed during a separate burglary.

On that occasion a number of coats were stolen from the store, which specialises in outdoor clothing and footwear.

Such was the force used during the break-in on Monday, a window caved in.

Neither police nor the store have provided details on whether a device or object was used to gain entry to the shop.

The window had been replaced before the second burglary occurred on Wednesday morning.

Business has continued as normal this week despite the two burglaries.

Regatta Outlet, which has 15 stores across the north, declined to comment on either burglary.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about either incident to contact officers on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
