A TEENAGER has been shot in the leg in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.

The man, believed to be aged 18, was shot on Forest Street off Springfield Road on Thursday evening.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said he was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

He was in a stable condition on Thursday night.

The shooting is thought to have happened at around 8.45pm. It came just 24 hours after a man in his twenties was shot in the legs close to the jobs and benefits office on the Falls Road on Wednesday night.

Sinn Féin's Fra McCann condemned the latest attack.

"There can be no justification for such actions and whoever is responsible needs to stop," he said.

"I would encourage anyone with information to bring it forward to the PSNI."
