FOUR aspiring singers from the north have been left disappointed after they were all voted off a prime-time TV talent show on Saturday.

The four - Deaglan Arthurs from Co Tyrone, Belfast man Scott Macaulay and Derry pair Dylan Reid and Damien Kivlehan - exited the BBC's Let It Shine show before it had reached the live rounds stage.

The boys failed to make the final cut, with 25 hopefuls now progressing to form five bands in a bid for the viewers' votes.

Scott Macaulay tweeted: "Thanks for all the support. Just wasn't meant to be! Won't be the last for me though. Good luck to all the bands. #letitshine".

Sinn Féin's Barry McElduff tweeted: "Everybody from Tyrone proud of Deaglan Arthurs. Bright future for certain."

Created by Take That frontman Gary Barlow, Let It Shine has seen young male singers compete to secure a slot in a band which will perform in a touring musical featuring the band's hits.

Hosted by Graham Norton, its judges have included Barlow, Dannii Minogue, Martin Kemp and Amber Riley.
