Paraglider airlifted from Slieve Gullion to hospital in Belfast

A PARAGLIDER has been rescued after suffering a serious leg injury on a mountain in Co Armagh.

The man was airlifted from Slieve Gullion at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon and taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team said that the man had suffered a "serious leg injury".

He was part of a group which was paragliding on the mountain when the accident occurred.

The rescue operation involved coastguard crews from both sides of the border.
