TWO Northern Ireland restaurants have been included in a list of the top 100 eateries in the UK.

Ox in Belfast and Harry's Shack in Portstewart feature in the Sunday Times selection following judging by chefs Jamie Oliver and Antonio Carluccio and restaurateur Nick Jones.

Ox on Oxford Street was opened in 2013 by Stephen Toman and Alain Kerloc'h and has been recognised with a Michelin star among other awards.

Harry's Shack on the beach front in Portstewart is a National Trust-owned building which specialises in seafood, owned by Donegal businessman Donal Doherty.

The Sunday Times list does not rank the 100 establishments but instead selects eight regional winners and an overall winner, which will be published this weekend.

Laurel Ives, editor of the supplement, said: "The Sunday Times top 100 restaurants judging panel is made up of some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the industry, from chefs and owners, to our own expert writers.

"They have picked out the very best establishments that the UK’s impressive culinary scene has to offer."
