Woman targeted in east Belfast hijacking

A woman in her twenties was the victim of a hijacking in east Belfast

A YOUNG woman was targeted in a hijacking in east Belfast.

The woman, who is in her twenties, was in her red Hyundai i30 on School Road in Castlereagh when a man approached her at around 7.50am on Tuesday and told her to get out.

He drove off towards Newtownbreda Road. The car was later found parked on St James's Road in west Belfast at around 10.35am.

The woman was not injured in the hijacking.

The hijacker is described as around 5' 5'', in his late twenties and of stocky build. He was wearing a peaked cap, a scarf over his face and navy clothes.

Police appealed for information.
