A WOMAN has been left badly shaken after a "horrific" hijacking in Lurgan in the early hours of this morning.

At around 12.15am the woman was dragged from a white Skoda Fabia in Sloan Street. The car was later found burnt out a short distance away in the Taghnaven area.

DUP assembly member Carla Lockhart described the incident as "very alarming" in what is usually a peaceful part of the town.

"This happened in the darkness of night on one of the busiest nights of the year."

Police have appealed to any witnesses to this incident and anyone who may have witnessed the car being driven between Sloan Street and Taghnevan Drive to contact police on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
