A 19-YEAR-OLD man remains critically ill in hospital following a two-car crash in Co Tyrone.

The man was driving a red Vauxhall Corsa which was involved in a collision with a red Volkswagen Jetta on Carrycastle Road several miles outside the village of Eglish just after 9.15pm on Monday.

The 28-year-old driver of the Jetta and the car's female passenger (28) were treated for minor injuries.

The 19-year-old man was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

A spokeswoman for the Belfast Trust this morning said the teenager was in a critical condition.

Carrycastle Road was closed for several hours following the crash.
